Streaming Revenue: $1.0328 billion USD (up 59%)
Singles Download Revenue: $1.623.6 billion USD (up 6.7%)
Album Download Revenue: $1.205 billion USD
CD (physical): $2.4856 billion USD

2013:

Streaming Revenue: $1.439 billion USD (up 39.3%)
Singles Download Revenue: $1.569 billion USD (down 3.4%)
Album Download Revenue: $1.234 billion USD (up 2.4%)
CD (physical): $2.1235 (down 14.6%)






For those wondering why Billboard include streaming, look no further than this stat:

Singles Download Revenue: $1.569 billion USD (down 3.4%)
Album Download Revenue: $1.234 billion USD (up 2.4%)
CD (physical): $2.1235 (down 14.6%)----------------------if CD declines by 14%, it would be at $1.826 billion USD


The question is can streaming grow 27.5% in 2014?

59% for 2012
39% for 2013
? for 2014

We will find out in 1 year time when RIAA release its 2014 #.

If you haven't notice, physical media is increasingly becoming digital.

Music: check
Game: check
Movie: check
Tv Show: check
Book: check
Newspaper: check

Get with the future or get left behind.

Music will be all about streaming and touring.

Glad to see that album downloads are still growing, though.

Maybe they can do the kpop/jpop thing and offer 5 different album bundles and with DVDs and goodies

That will only make sense if groups dominate English language music.

Boy groups / girl groups dominate kpop/jpop = lot of hardcore fans. They will buy anything.

One Direction can do this but I doubt Rihanna or Katy Perry can.

I would KILL for that.

That's precisely why people shouldn't cry about streaming being included in the charts. Eventually I think it should be more heavily weighted. Most people are consuming most of their music these days via streaming. There are very few artists I actually purchase these days. No point w/ Spotify/Youtube/Soundcloud.

Solo artists do it in Japan, too, though. But typically they would only have 3 versions (5 counting Blu-Ray and DVD versions separately).

They do but my point is that Oricon Chart is dominated by GROUPS.

Same with Gaon Album Chart (physical) in South Korea.

What'sthe report for 2011? for the album download & CD?

Or maybe it's time to move on with the times and realize that albums are no longer the only dominant force in how people get their music. It has happened to every music format. Artists will just have to adapt.
