I was looking around MTV.com because I saw a promo for a new show premiering this Friday night, "
FN MTV." What the hell is FN MTV? Turns out it's a primetime music video show with guest hosts each week. It's also the new name of all music video programming on MTV. If you're watching music videos on MTV, it'll be called "FN MTV."
Quick rundown of the "FN MTV" schedule is as follows:
Monday to Friday, 8 AM - 11 AM
Tuesday to Friday, 4 PM - 5 PM
Friday night (the big show), 8 PM - 9 PM
That's it, as far as music videos go. The regular old "Music Videos," and The Big Ten, Sucker Free / Yo! MTV Raps whatever it is, and everything else, they're all gone. If you're gonna watch videos, you're gonna watch them when FN MTV is on. As far as I can figure out, the "FN" stands for two things. It stands for "Friday Night," and it also stands for "F'n MTV," as in, you're watching music videos, it's f'n music television.
So I thought to myself, surely this means TRL is dead, right? Nope, of course not! TRL will still be on from 3 to 4 PM. Great. The damn thing will never die.
That led me to the TRL web site, where I saw they had a page up called "
The Vent," where people can give their opinions about the show. This one was published on there:

Hey, my name is Andy, I'm 16, and I'm from Missouri. I began watching TRL in June 2003 and watched it daily until January 2006, when it was moved to an earlier time slot. I'm going to be brutally honest. The show had been going downhill for quite some time. Had it "always been about the fans," it wouldn't be in the position it is now. I was actually thinking the show was a lost cause, but the "vent" has given me some hope. My idea to make TRL better is essentially a renaissance - to go back to its roots (the music and the fans). My recommendations are as follows... 5 days-per-week, 50-day retirement rule, 90-minute shows, only TRL votes factor, less hiatuses, live - not taped, better time slot, new graphics and set. Thank you for your consideration. P.S. As cheesy as it may sound, TRL use to be the highlight of my day and was what I looked forward to after school. I would love for the show to turn things around and make it to its 10-year anniversary in September. - ATRL.net member and former fan, Andy R.

Look at that, they actually published the critique and left the "ATRL.net" in the message. Good job, MTV. But the question is, who's Andy R.? We must know the "famous" person who got published and represented ATRL in the process.
Is it Andy Rooney? Maybe it's Andy Richter?
P.S. The guy makes some good points, but it's hilarious to me that he thinks TRL lost its way and he
started watching in 2003. I
stopped watching TRL in 2003 because I couldn't take it anymore.
