Unfortunately I can't see many of these features working outside the USA.

I was waiting for this thread! It was a nice surprise for today! The Moto 360 looks amazing! My Pebble will do for now, but I will be jumping on to one of these new Android Wear watches!

Google is rolling out it's Google Now services slowly but surely, so I'm hoping they'll also have a big announcement about it's future this summer when these new watches start rolling out.

Yawn. Smart watches don't need to happen and probably won't. It's just as distracting and inconvenient to fiddle with your watch as it is to pull your phone out of your pocket, except using your phone is much more productive. If size is an issue then stop buying 6" phones

Pretty sure you wouldn't be saying this if Apple was to release it. If you actually bother to read the article, its not ment to replace your phone.

2) If Apple releases a "smart watch", it isn't going to look like a damn literal boring watch. Everyone knows that Apple focuses on design more than anyone else so I'm sure it would be something more revolutionary than slapping a screen on a watch.

3) Samsung released a "smart watch" before Google, so Google is playing catch up.

4) The only reason "smart watches" exist is because Apple created the rumor ages ago so they could watch the game that other manufacturers have always been playing

2). The Moto 360 isn't a boring watch. Were not talking about the Galaxy Gear here buddy.
3).The Galaxy Gear was a pointless release, just so that Samsung could be first to say they released one ahead of everybody. But let's be real, that **** is horrible even the Gear 2 sucks. This new software Google created changed everything. So yes Samsung is back to playing catch up

2) Motorola hasn't even shown what the watch does from what we've seen, it's a traditional watch with a screen slapped on it. I don't know why they aren't releasing this with flexible screens. That's the ONLY way these things will ever become a trend.

3) The Galaxy Gear does about as much as this Google thing does, Google's just has a better interface.

4) Did I lie? Smart watches were never a thing until Apple rumors started circulating. Then Samsung released the Gear and now everyone's releasing these things even though they have absolutely nothing special about them.

Apple isn't playing catch up, they're giving consumers what they want. If they didn't do that then they would go out of business. The fact that they even released the iPhone alone pushed the touchscreen smartphone ahead 5 years.

Smart watches may be something in the future, but releasing a band with a flat, round screen isn't the way. When somebody gets it right with a flexible screen, that's when they'll stand a chance. For now, the only people who will buy these things are tech geeks and that's probably how it'll be for the next decade+ because most people are fine with just a cell phone. Smart watches don't do enough for the cost to be justifiable; they're as expensive or more expensive than an actual phone.
