S&M had 3 performances, a remix and huge radio support and radio support alone is the biggest promo so that promo excuse doesn't work for ANY of these albums.

Stop talking about promo or about how much effort Katy put into making her album sell, 6 million is still respectable and a lot and let's not forget how all of the singles were multi platinum which is also another achievement besides selling 6 million copies.

I could compare The Fame to any other huge album and it will look like a joke.

I can't think of any recent pop album by a female selling more than that. (except like 21, Red and TTTAL?)

I hope anyone on ATRL will stop using that 5.7 million sales figure since it's very outdated! Teenage Dream didn't stop selling after that figure was determined! By now it has sold at least 6-6.5 million.

I mean katy literally appeared and performed at every award show for two and a half years and she had like 7 #1s...plus a freakin movie and re-release.....her album should have been at 9 or 10 million easily

gaga did one year of extensive promo like katy had 1 big single and 2 decent hits and sold the same thing.
Rihanna did maybe 50% of born this ways promo and had 3 #1 singles, and sold the same thing

if gaga and Rihanna had that much promo they would have sold 10 million or more easily

5 #1 singles, re-release, 2 years of promotion and a movie could have helped her getting at least 8m.

2. I guess Teenage Dream is not a huge album because if you compare it to The Fame it becomes a joke.

3. Yes, those 3 albums, and they sold millions without 8 hits and a re-issue, in fact they only needed like 2-3 hits each.
