all i'm saying is: if someone calls for a doctor during an emergency, they're not asking for a veterinarian or a dentist; they need a medical doctor

Yes. I don't really think it's a matter of opinion. It's a matter of fact that if you have a doctorate degree, then you are a doctor. You don't need a medical degree in order to be called a doctor, unless you want to be a medical doctor. There are doctors in many different fields.
