most people didn't care about it at all. it's just a finger. if anything they pointed out how ridiculous american tv is with their stupid rules. outside of the US they only talked about Madonna's amazing performance, which translated into her amazing ticket sales and biggest pre-order of an album of all time! I don't know where that weird idea over "overshadowing" came from. All I saw were articles praising M's performance!
