i'm tired of being in college and i'm only a freshman.

i've replayed this like 200 times in the last 3 days.

Japan is boring and I wish I'd stayed in NZ and done post-grad film and media honors.

if you're not passionate about anything go into business (preferably accounting or marketing) or become a dental hygienist. they pay well and don't require you to stay in school for awhile (2-4 years max & then you can get hired).

trust me, i'm not passionate about anything in life either. i'm just sticking with school cause i want a roof over my head when my parents die.

I love to draw/paint/design and things of that nature but there doesn't seem to be much money there its more of a hobby I guess.

I figured I need to put my talent to good use so im looking into architecture right now.

counselors always say "do what you love doing the most! follow your dreams!" but that's all a lie to just get you to waste loans. money should always come first imo.

architecture pays very well but it's very math orientated and the artsy type like you don't seem to blend well with that. but then again i don't really know anything about you so i should be shutting up.

Right though! I think telling me to follow my dream made things so much more complicated for me All I wanted back in senior year of HS was to just finish and graduate. I wish I had taken it more seriously.

I disagree. Follow your dreams of course, but you need to be more committed than doing a uni paper. If you're not actively pursuing your field outside and inside of your studies, then you'll never have an edge unless you have some spectacular pure talent. Also networking is unbelievably crucial. If you're just gonna show up to class and expect a job at the end, you're doomed.

obviously, i don't see where i said otherwise? i plan to do internships over the summer and join organizations. some jobs don't require an "edge" though, as long as you go into a field that's hiring and have a decent resume you'll be fine. it's the creative fields like art and interior design where you have to be 100% committed to make it in.
