This song just needs restructuring like, the last part is GOLD 4real her vocals are just heaven, the bridge is really good, but its all over the place, this could really get soo good if she polishes it.

I find it utterly hilarious that some people think this was singleworthy. It's a pleasant demo that with a lot of work might have had some potential, but it sounds extremely unfinished and has a lot of problems. No way is this better than the majority of ARTPOP.

At the same time, people who call it "horrendous" look just as bad. This is not "horrendous." Her vocals are excellent, the production is semi-decent, and the melody is super-catchy. "Horrendous" should not enter the equation. It's not first-single-worthy, but "horrendous" just shows bias too.

She said she wanted more time with the song to make it better back when the tracklist was revealed. So it's not that *insert ARTPOP song title* made the album over Brooklyn Nights. I think if BN was how she wanted it back then it would've made the album. Just guessing though.

I can't stop singing this. It's so catchy!

Yeah but she coulda just spent more time on this and less time changing 'I Wanna Be With You' into 'Dope' is what I'm saying. I'm guessing this song is about 75% done with the way that it sounds and if she had spruced it up a bit, I think it could have turned out to be an album highlight. But now it will probably never get an official release and 'Dope' will always be a lackluster ballad.

It would definitely fit with the flow of the album a bit better. It's still a somber, ballad-y song but it incorporates striking electronic elements so as to not completely slow down the pace as 'Dope' ended up doing.

If Brooklyn Nights followed Dope, it would have been flawless actually. Or it could even go before (but I think MJH to Dope is neat). She should have scrapped Jewels N Trash for this.
