This week Gabriella Cilmi, Mint Royale and Sara Bareilles all make the UK top ten. Gabriella's Sweet About Me which is currently holding onto it's fifth week at number one in Australia, climbed 7 places to 7 this week in the UK Singles Chart. Singer/Song Writer Sara Bareilles also climbs high in the chart, inching up 9 places to number 6 with Love Song. The song which was dubbed the song of the Summer by UK Radio has really made a big splash in the UK top ten. It it currently at number 3 on UK iTunes. Mint Royale's Singin' In The Rain, which was released in the UK in October 2005, has re-entered the UK top 40 last week, due to the fact of Britain's Got Talent Winner George Sampson. The 14 year old dancer, performed to the song during the live shows. The song which originally peaked at #20, was released the same day as Rihanna's Pon De Replay back 3 years ago. It has officially inched up 27 places to the number one spot. The song is the first since Elvis Presley's 6 month releases, to get to number one after being released amount of years ago. Also Ne*Yo's UK club inspired single 'Closer' moves up 2 places to number 5 in the charts, making it Ne*Yo's third top 5 single. So Sick went to number one in March '06, and 'Because Of You' peaked at number 4 last May. Also outside the top 10, Chris Brown's Forever moves up 6 places to 11, just missing out on the top 10. Maroon 5 and Rihanna's If I Never See Your Face Again debuts at number 29 on the charts. Lil Wayne's Lollipop moves up to number 26 in the chart making it his highest chart position. Radiohead's 90's classic Creep re enters the chart at number 37, due to download sales from their Best Of album. Also Kat DeLuna's Run the Show still doesn't manage to break the top 40. Scooter's Jumping All Over the World debuts at number 36. Paul Weller goes to number one in the album chart with his new album '22 Dreams'. Yeah it's an amazing song, but is it good that a song from 3 years ago should still get to number one, and other new songs can't? I think it's pretty unfair
Yeah, but, the album is new to US mainstream, so....only people like us here on ATRL and other music sites might know that its old, but not the general public unless they cared that much. Its new here. The album was just released in UK and now US, so its new to the public.
