Poll: Is Windows XP still the best PC OS to date?

A lot of people claim Windows 8 to be a disaster compared to the other versions of before it. Windows Vista was always considered the worst, but now I feel like people hate on Windows in general much more.

Windows 7 was an improvement on Windows Vista, but to me it still felt like it was trying to still be too fancy rather than being an OS that was based on durability etc. it was trying to be fancy like Mac OS (which was heavily compared during the Vista beta stage http://lifehacker.com/179909/windows...-like-mac-os-x ) rather than focus on running programs.

To me, Windows XP was perfect (and they kept selling it up until 2009 as an "upgrade to a familiar XPerience") because it was so good,

Do you still think Windows XP is the best OS since the 2000's (I mean who can shade Queen Windows 98 :P)

Windows XP will definitely run smoother and cleaner. Your PC running Windows 7 will probably have better specs than the one running Windows XP.
A lot of workplaces use XP still because there is heaps of bloat ware in Windows 7. I mean the whole "Aero" feature alone is a drag and most people who want speed turn it off (I turned it off and noticed my games lagged less).

But sadly the updates/support will end in April 2014, but still doesnt make any difference to me

If 7/8 is smooth in your PC, XP will be even faster
XP minimum requesit is 128mb Ram and 7/8 is 1Gb

You can only use 32 bits versions (64 bits versions are unstable and not recommended), which means it only recognizes up to 3,5 Gb Ram, but its enought for me, since I "only" have 4Gb on my PC

The only feature I miss on XP is the search bar on the explorer, but Windows Search 4.0 solves this problem

Windows XP was revolutionary at its time but saying it's the best OS to date is ********.

Windows 8 is much more secure and more RAM efficient than its predecessors.

I don't know the difference between XP and W8 or W7, I had a Vista as my first laptop and it served me well, 8gb RAM memory and 750gb storage space, it could handle big programs quite easily and it had a 17 inch 64 bit screen, I couldn't complain, after 4 years in college I got a windows 8 , 15 inch with the same memory and I'm getting used to the new commands. As far as tablets, my iPad air does well. I can't really be a big technology snob, sometimes they do frustrate me but nothing too big I can't solve.

I loved XP when i was out, but I'm happy with W8. To be honest, my favorite might be Vista because that was wha my first computer was on

One of my old cute laptops still has XP and seriously everytime I dust it off and play with it it's probably one of the best systems Windows had! Gives me HS teas too!

Windows 7/Vista are great. Sorry but I can't really go in XP anymore too dated, I could say. Windows 8 although good behind the stage, is ugly as ****
