Speaking of Banksy: Someone referred to him yesterday when the news coverage was all about Gaga's puke act. You could say what Banksy does is vandalism, yet he's obviously convinced the world that it's art. Interesting comparison, I thought.

On topic: It's his body, so why are people bothered so much?

The controversial part of the story is that Banksy wasn't notified before Biebs got the ink. Banksy called it controversial.

I know 2 people who have that tattoo. I doubt they asked Banksy first. Why would they?

You'd only need permission if you were replicating his artwork exactly, and especially if you aimed to profit from that.

I love Banksy and the image of the balloon girl, just not as a tattoo.
