Because reviews by critics totally reflects what consumers thought of the album
It has the same 4/5 star score as ARTPOP on iTunes, a lesser score than ARTPOP on Metacritic (user reviews), and a .4 star score higher than ARTPOP on Amazon (with less reviews than ARTPOP has). So yes, consumer reviews have also been pretty average as seen by looking at the sources we have to go by.
Gurl stop! Most of this "metacritic users" are fans and even from here. The GP dont even care about this site.

Am I not a member of gp? Are you not a member of gp? Are we all not a members of gp? We are. People bought Perry's album beacuse it sounds nice and is cute. Polls, reviews, votings are all in favour of ARTPOP. And I'm fine with it selling 1.7 while Prism 2.5. I really am. ARTPOP is so much better.
