Equal measures of both. The image is all over the place and can be outright disgusting at times, while some of her songs have silly lyrics that just don't connect with the general music buying public.
She DID start the shift-change in Pop music with the crazy costumes and funky beats. Then everyone followed suit after her.
Now that EVERYONE is doing the idea that she really catapulted, the GP doesn't want her anymore. Where there used to be 1 GaGa, now there's thousands of others doing the same.
It's sad, but she DEFINITELY will be forever remembed in music history for how she changed the pop scene.
After last night though, I think that will be VERY hard for her to recover from, at least when the GP gets a hold of the performance.
Both music and image. She's still trying to sell her catchy pop music as something haute and people are finally realizing that she and Miley aren't that different.
