I know Apple have replaced phones where the battery has melted outside the Warranty date (since it's a hazard and can be sued otherwise).
I'm pretty sure my Dad had a Sony phone that caught fire and he also got it replaced (it was out of Warranty, it was just work phone though) so I'd give Nokia a try
