I enjoyed it and was thoroughly impressed. It was more than I expected of Gaga playing a festival gig on a relatively small stage. I can't remember the last time I was genuinely shocked by Gaga, and as soon as I saw Millie walk out with the bottle of green stuff I knew s**t was about to hit the fan and lo and behold, meltdowns ensued. To be fair, though, I expected meltdowns and hate regardless of what she did. She is a polarising figure and will continue to be just that...
She's always been a messy, terrible live performer. Awful dancing, bland concepts with hardly any connectability, and live vocals always being eaten up by a blaring studio track are a guarantee when it comes to Gaga. Today everything was amplified tenfold. She's never had a competent performance where everything was there. The girl simply has no stage presence and it's laughable that people are just now cluing into this.
Those performances were a musical rebirth that combined music, art, fashion and technology (that amazing doritos stage) where a top down method of brining art into pop culture was achieved.
MY GOD! talk about a reverse warholian expedition!
Didn't love it! I mean, let's be real... She comes back after a months-long blackout to get puked on at a Doritos-sponsored venue, while looking messy and sounding shaky? Without performing GUY, the supposed third single? The entire concert seemed like one giant meltdown to be honest.
My mouth was wide open. I felt disturbed, mentally confused and I don't even know if I loved that feeling or not like I didn't ask for it but I don't know if I regret it either.
