For one, I'm a regular on this forum and in this base thread especially. If I (and I think most people) were going to be influenced by anyone, it surely wouldn't be from people who never post in here and then on top of that come barging in with aggressive accusations.
If you really have a problem with the way certain people are, you would be better off talking to them one on one than throwing blanket statements at everyone.
Those messy queens who drag her for her vocals don't even realize that the general public has no clue how to differentiate between good and bad technique
They think everyone has a PHD in Music or something. And that stance is hypocritical of her fans because if music was judged like that, she would never be successful with the amount of melodic and production errors her music has

Anyone with a semi-trained ear and some acknowledge on music and specially on vocals can identify all Xtina's flaws. I mean, even when you have no clue about vocals you can identify how pitchy she is, which happens very often since Bionic days. How she strains to belt a simple B4/C5, and all those and more problems are caused because of how many years she's been abusing her voice using a bad technique. If you really can't identify something's wrong when you watch any performance since Bionic days where she belts then the problem is obviously not on us. The only person that should feel insecure is Xtina, but she doesn't and that's fine. It's Xtina the one singing, not us.
Today, I'm going to post two more updates so we can solidify X's top fifty tracks.

My favorite uptempo track off of Back To Basics. So good!

I agree completely. I am no expert when it comes to vocal music, but I have been in enough choirs in high school and have heard enough music to know good technique from bad. After Burlesque, her vocal performances have been pretty spotty. But every time I mention that, I get dragged by y'all.

Eh, you'd be suprised. I think you're giving way too much credit to the public. Even people who are semi knowledgable about music are still constantly praising her vocals and wowed while worried fans and haters nitpick online.
She's never had any of those issues consistently until The Voice/Lotus, but her reputation as a master vocalist has already been solidified for over a decade to the public, no matter what happens, so it really doesn't matter what a few people on the internet nitpicking think.

But if you were in choir, you have some vocal training and a knowledge that most people don't have.
I have my own music knowledge and experience in a different field, but I don't think I could act like most people notice the things I notice, because they just don't know and if they did, they don't care anyway All they know is that they enjoy the music regardless.

True, so I guess my opinion means a little more then. Just kidding! It's just that as a huge fan, I want her to live up to the reputation she has made for herself. She's just been kind of sloppy with a lot of her post-Burlesque performances, so it's hard to see her perform with such bad technique when she's capable of delivering so much more!
That said, her performances of Say Something and Do What You Want were on point. So I know she still has it in there somewhere.

This seems to be a common misconception around here. Only a small minority of the general public are musically trained.
I am not saying everyone knows about music theory or is musically trained. Most people don't even care about it, if they sound loud they are excellent vocalists to their eyes. However, the awareness of Xtina's vocal decline (online; Youtube, ATRL, etc) has increased a lot in recent years. And I agree that most people in ATRL have no clue what they're talking about but they've seen other people talking about it so they follow the trend.
This is how someone sings while having perfect control over her voice. This is proper technique being applied. Even if you don't know the difference between an harmonic and a melodic interval, you CAN spot the difference between this and Xtina's latest performances. That is my point.

But people who complain online, on ATRL, or youtube all come from the same demographic. It's not like the level of awareness really increased. If it does seem higher, it probably has more to do with Bionic flopping and then people feeling that they have a license to nitpick every aspect of her career. But that happens with every artist when they have a flop; everything gets magnified and people feel free to bash. And when artists are successful, people are more reluctant to complain
But nevertheless, at the end of the day, the people who do complain are a small minority, and don't represent the real world.
Maybe you're not as as familiar with this, but back in the day people used to complain about Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston's vocals ALOT online and they still complain about Mariah and they would still probably about Whitney is she was alive. Their fans would worry too about their "vocal reputation", but in real life, nobody really cares lol. The public, generally speaking, never really thought less of them in that aspect. And the same goes for Christina.
And again, I think you're thinking too highly of the public. The public is not going to have awareness of that other woman's technique or one like it to compare it to Christina. They don't know and they don't care. If anything, they would like her voice less because of her timbre
I discovered Stronger than ever thanks to this countdown (just like the other bonus tracks on Bionic (and that random pokemon song )). it's one of my faves

"That random Pokemon song." I'm glad the rate is helping you discover new songs though! Bionic's bonus tracks are its highlight, and the best of them have yet to show up.
