A Message from Me about the Born This Way Foundation
My mom and I are so deeply passionate about the Born This Way Foundation. Its work, its message. Creating local grassroots events to support youth with mental illness, abusive household situations, disabilities, in search of friends, answers. We believe in advocating empowerment and creating a safe space for kids to go who feel helpless. Suicide Prevention, Compassion, Inspiring Bravery. This is our mission. We do not raise money and allocate the funds to other charities for them to do the work. We do the work. We formed a brand new, up-to-date with all the newest research and best doctors in the country approach to youth wellness. My mom is on the ground with the kids, so am I, the whole Born Brave Team is. Check out my mom's article in the HUFFINGTON POST to learn more http://tinyurl.com/l57mokp http://bplane.co/n9kItk
In my honest opinion, she seems to be just using all of this as promo
If she really wanted to help people, she could do it without the press.
She could be using it just as promo, but she has still likely helped at least one person - which is always a good thing. No other current pop star has set up such a foundation so why does it matter if she could do better, at least she has done something. None of this is a requirement of a pop star.
I agree that she does things worthy of dragging but this is certainly not one of them.
I find it interesting that she defends this but didn't defend herself against Angela Cheng. It shows that she cares more about helping people than reports on her flopping sales.
