Right. There's plenty of **** that we, as black people, do that we deserve to get dragged for. We're quick to call it racism when a white person points it out, but in reality, it's sometimes it's the truth.

Well it may be the truth but they have no right to point fingers. When white people have just as much ****ery going on in there race if not even more and statistics like welfare prove that.

I, personally, don't participate in the coonery that I see going on every single day, but therein lies one of the problems in itself. When I refuse to be a part of this ratchet movement that's currently going on, I get criticized for being stuck up and thinking I'm better than them.

It's not a black thing but a people thing. I got the same dirty looks in my majority white school for not busting a nut in every chick I saw or not smoking weed/doing other drugs. Some people are close minded and feel because you are different than the majority they choose to hang out with or act like, then you have an issue. When truly it chalks up to different life experiences that influence our decisions.

Why is it a problem that often in the black community the ones that are actually trying to make a difference and have our race perceived in a positive light are often frowned down upon?

And therein lies the true problem why must I have to put on the burden of representing an entire group of people. We are not a monolith at all, I never thought every white person I saw was gonna be my uncle jesse from full house. I never expected every white person to act like this or that so why must I tolerate that attitude towards me?? There are plenty of trashy images of white people but the problem is they have the balance in the media to have good images to go along with it as well. We do not I feel that everyone is different if someone wants to act ratchet that is their issue not mine. They don't represent me or will never speak for me and if some racist white tries to use that as justification to treat me a certain way they will quickly get gathered together. If you watch tv and think an entire group of ppl act like that based off a few you have the issue and need to get educated. I still do believe we need more positive images though just in terms of balance because f.uckery always sell's regardless of culture/race.

Why is it that if we're not glorifying people like Lil Boosie and instead praise influential black leaders it's a problem.

Maybe that's an issue down south but not where I am from. People are always trying to praise black leaders and educate there children about them. And easily dismiss the ratchetness from RHOA or L&HH
