Meg White’s red-and-white drum, Lady Gaga’s meat dress and
Joan Jett’s leather jacket will be among the artifacts displayed in an upcoming exhibit at the Henry Ford Museum.
“Women Who Rock: Vision, Passion, Power,” a touring exhibition that originated at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland, will run May 17 through Aug. 24 at the Dearborn museum.
The exhibit celebrates 70 female artists from the history of rock, pop, R&B and blues, with Detroit figures such as White, Aretha Franklin, Madonna and Patti Smith alongside stars ranging from Billie Holiday to Janis Joplin.
