I only buy my fave's music and illegally download the rest.
I'm a student like bye at spending all that money on those artists that are already filthy rich u know..
The film and music industry need to learn to restructure themselves because they would be delusional to think things will go back to what they used to be.
Yeah, availability is the bigger issue. Here, I can't just go to a music shop and find everything I want. And it's much more convenient to just download stuff.
I'm hoping Spotify and Netflix (when they actually become a WW thing) will take over.
If they made all songs like 30 cents, I guarantee sales would go up. I'd buy all of my music legally. The low cost would be offset by the high demands.
absolutely untrue. People just have to manage their money better. Music used to be something that people would appreciate because you had to purchase it. now everyone steals it so it has almost no value to anyone.
the music industry was perfectly fine until piracy and the internet came along.
That's because the economy wasn't the shithole it is now before piracy and the internet came along.
I think the late releases in the UK are a problem too. Like I would probably buy a lot more singles but I don't want to wait 2 ****ing months to buy it because I'm so fed up with it by then.

The film industry is actually doing better than ever tbh...
I completely agree. Music needs to be cheaper (including in America). There's no reason for a digital album that can be reproduced an infinite amount of times for little to no cost to be more than $10. If $7.99 was the normal price for an album, and $3-$5 for a discounted price, digital sales would increase dramatically. Just look at the percentage increases when an album is discounted from $12+ to $3-$5. A 100% increase in sales is easily accomplished. And when artists discount their albums during the first few weeks of availability, their sales are huge. Why can't this be the norm?
I understand that it's a little more difficult with physical albums, though, but they still shouldn't cost more than $10 either.
