Yes, certain stations may play the song. Just like certain stations may play BG. But Epic are not smart enough to send the songs to different stations, they'll send whatever single they choose out to pop.

I actually don't want another single. This era has been such a mess and I can't wait for it to be over. If I had to pick, it'd be 17 because it's my favorite and the video could be awesome.

I think more than certain radios would play GYWYL :/ everybody loves Avril's that kind of singles and maybe American radios won't play them but i think it'd do good on rest of the world.

Anyway i want new singles, i love 17 too but since she has released RnR & HTNGU i don't want her to release any song like them i want people to see her other sides

Why do you say that Flolops? WYWH was the most successful single of GL ( ), everybody appreciates WYG and the singles before them.

Releasing upbeat singles is more risky for her.

Ok. And WYWH, WYG, IWY and the rest of her past ballads are nothing like GYWYL. She's never really recorded a song like this before, let alone released one.

yes, it's a little bit different but that's what people want from her right? They wnt her to change. I don't know maybe i'm wrong but people around me loves to listen this kind of songs nowadays

I mean GYWYL is a fantastic song but let's not pretend people are going to listen to it. Avril doesn't have the star power. Catchy pop is the way to go for her commercially - RCA would have easily been on board with her sound for this album and would have done the era justice. It's a shame that this era had to happen after the GL era instead of before it.

I do agree with this part but GP only listen famous upbeat songs, from bigger stars like Katy Perry or Rihanna etc.. RnR was amazing but GP didn't touch it. But it's not the same for slow songs. They appreciate slow songs from every other artists.

The GP didn't touch RNR because they were barely even aware of it. That single had the messiest release of her career's history. As for your claim that the public appreciates ballads from every other artist, that's just not true. Ballads flop far more than faster songs, and are therefore much riskier to release. I'm not saying ballads can't find success, but they need so much more support than midtempos and uptempos - especially if coming from a fairly irrelevant artist like Avril.

The public needs to hear a ballad a LOT to latch onto it most of the time because they aren't instantly catchy or endearing. And Epic does not have the funds to make that happen. I'd say ideally if Avril moves to a good label - she'd need to release a truly different uptempo or midtempo track as her lead, and THEN a killer ballad as a second single.

i think it's true for other artists but not for Avril :/ and as i see irrevelant artists ballads be more succesful than their uptempo songs

Goodbye Lullaby as somewhat pop, though. It was one of my favorite albums of all-time and one of my favorites from her (the other being Avril Lavigne). It wasn't bad, but I think the musical style was a little behind what was currently on pop radio. The type of music she was going for had already been done. "What the Hell" did relatively well, but really, it should've done better in the US. It deserved to. The single choices were good, overall, but the GP just wasn't here for them. I hope that's not the case with the remainder of this album too.

It was Poppy because RCA wanted it to . They never released Push which would've represented the album .

I get it she likes to sing Fun and Care free Songs . She's young at Heart but She really need to get along with todays trend or she'll be faded . She has to take her career seriuosly .
