A young soldier has avoided jail over a ‘disgusting’ Facebook post about the death of three-year-old Mikaeel Kular because he was ‘brought up in a racist family’.
Although Butler claims not to be ‘actively racist’, the defence said he did not know better as he had grown up in a racist family where he was taught to feel adverse towards non-white people.

so... if I was raised in a family full of thieves and I rob a bank once, I would not be punished because I am not an active thief, + I was raised by them so how could I know better... I am only 19 after all, it's not like I am 54 and mentally developed to decide what is good and what is wrong...
