The foundation spent more money in its first year on other things than charity - and it's the biggest error in charitable history and makes Gaga an awful person it would seem based on these irrelevant reactions.
It's getting off the ground to become self-sufficient, but Gaga can do no right regardless.

Putting 1.5 million of your own money into publicity for a charity raises awareness for said charity, which would then cause an increase in donations, and these could then go towards helping people directly. Naturally, the amount of money donated into the charity will likely rise as years progress, and it can consistently pump money out for people who need it, which in the long-run is a lot more efficient than just donating it directly. Donating it directly would be immediately helpful but front-loaded and not do much for the long run.
Tldr; the 1.5 million for publicity will help increase donations and the endowment of the charity, which could then go to more people directly and at a more efficient and constant rate than an upfront donation of 1.5 million. A largely endowed charity can help more people than a one-time donation.

The foundation launched after inspiration from that Jamey (?) kid who died and people were very upset over it, Gaga being one of them. She felt that kids could benefit from it. People do, obviously not the ones on here.

It's a FOUNDATION to raise awareness, not a organization to help sick kids. She's not putting money into towns to help the sick or anything like that. Y'all need to learn the difference. The Born This Way foundation is all about raising awareness and it always has been. If you have an issue with her foundation then you need to have an issue with all foundations that do this. what did the charity actually do? just genuinely curious. there was a born this way bus where fans got together at her concert. other than that what was there going on?
