I agree with Cupid that she should promote WIR during 2014 Fall and especially OUTSIDE the US. New album in early 2015 - lead single in January, album in March / April. Meanwhile she should do some songs for movies, I'm ready for that Golden Globe and Academy Award.

What's Up Lonely definitely isn't her best song but I think it isn't her worst one either. For me the worst one is If No One Will Listen (to This Song No One Will Be Surprised) or Some Kind of Miracle (I don't know this song is so forgettable, I never had any desire to listen to it).

The Darkness: they have been reportedly "working" on their new album for like two years, we Darklings were supposed to get new album early this year but nothing's happening, we only got two new songs around Christmas (they're nice but nothing special that would worth the waiting) and a re-recording of a 10 years old song (and the re-record version is almost identical to the former one).

Thankfully Lily Allen and Miranda Lambert will release their new albums soon.

I'm somehow not in a rush for her to release her next album. I don't think 2014 is realistic due to reasons already mentioned by others, and if she were to release in early 2015, well... I stan for Kelly and not for sales, but I'd still like her to benefit from releasing when sales are healthier. Maybe she could release the country record in early 2015, as that can probably sell more than a pop release could at that time. Then come back swinging in late 2015 with the pop album.

Watch Kelly pull some BEYONCE sh*t and drop her new album out of nowhere this summer. Summer smash 2014 is coming.

PLU was a good sign, so hopefully she keeps it up as far as putting more effort into her videos!

Hopefully they won't think "PLU had a nice video and flopped so let's make more videos like MKIA and Stronger which went into Top10".

Who cares about her visuals and music videos? Critical acclaim is what she should be going for. It's all about finally showcasing the full range of her vocal chops on lyrically mature AC songs.

I have no idea what "a little left-of-center and cool" is supposed to mean. Would anyone explain it to me? "Electronic" is practially what I think her new album will be. "Due out later this year" can mean anything but okay, still seems like they want to release an album in 2014.

I love everything electronic but... Quite a departure from the Adele/Lauryn Hill stuff we've been hearing about

As I understand it, that would mean something a little different, a little unexpected - "the center" meaning mainstream.

To be honest, I think that "in the vein of The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill" was about lyrics, not music, I can't really imagine Kelly's doing a full album in a similar genre.

Basically... I mean I just don't think Kelly will ever really be a streaming power or a visual artist. Even if she were to care as much as she did about her videos during Breakaway it still wouldn't be enough. She needs to just focus on the music.

I guess the album will still be very eclectic then. It's a shame it will probably be another year until we get to hear any of this
