The lowdown: Sunny, carefree anthem of youthful rebellion or cynical, desperate act of career revivalism? The call is yours (it seems ATRL definitely leans toward the former option), but it’s that very debate that launched this chilled-out, party-hardy lead single from Bangerz to the top of the charts—not to mention some good old-fashioned handwringing over possible racial insensitivities, as well as Miley’s inability to keep her booty in check. Best bit: "It's our party, we can do what we want to/It's our house, we can love who we want to/It's our song, we can sing if we want to/It's my mouth, I can say what I want to"—and then the song just sort of drifts into electro euphoria
