Most of the homophobic people I personally know have people who think they are gay and I believe in some way its a defense mechanism because they don't want to be different but I do think some people are so disgusted by homosexuality just like some people are so disgusted by vaginas or boobs or penises. Its natural in a sense to have some people against it when its a born reaction to something.
I luckily haven't had to. Almost everyone in my life has been great with my sexuality.
The only real issue is my dad. But I don't feel any need to clue him in anyway.
But I have been helping pass along posts and articles to raise awareness among my friends tho.
The last time someone called me the f-word, I made them cry in front of all their friends, ruined their relationship and got them kicked out of the club. In terms of homophobia, yes, they should be afraid
I go to a Catholic school, so there's bound to be some homophobes. So I have to tone my mannerisms or any hints, although I'm totally myself around my friends. But yea some guys mock them and I just keep my mouth shut. The school probably wouldn't be on my side incase something went down.
I've been lucky enough to not have had to deal with it outside of middle school. Honestly, I'm so unused to it that it'd probably be devastating to face. Kansas City is a really accepting place.

Oddly enough other people used to take up for me. It was huge popular kids that did it. This one guy made a pack with his home boys at school that they would leave me alone. I was a legend back in those days now I'm an obese has been hopefully I will be back on top.
