It depresses me so much. I cried once because of the abuse I got on there from one person.

I don't think I have any preference either tbh. It's not as if I have a choice. But even then - It's sad at the fact that people could potentially be missing out on the love of their life because of their checklists.

It's okay, we've all been there.

Ugh funny because I just recently got into a certain app after being abstinent for awhile. I agree that it can totally lower your self esteem because everyone rules you out before they even give you a chance.

I noticed that most only want to meet people that look and act like them. I'm not saying I don't have certin things that I like, but overall I don't really have a "type".

Interesting article, but the meat of it is more to do with his issues than mere hooking-up.

Hooking-up, like alcohol or drug use fits into different categories. There's those that do it simply because it's fun and they like having a good time. Then there are those who engage in these activities in an attempt to mask underlying issues they might be dealing with, which in his case had to do with his masculinity, and general worth among other things.

I guess I just expected it to be about more than that. Interesting read none the less.


EDIT: Just to elaborate, I mention this because at the end of the day, you're actions are only a reflection of whats inside (you're belief's, thoughts, perceptions etc). So while "giving up on hooking-up" might benefit one temporarily, nothing will change in the long run if they don't alter the interior at some point.

Otherwise, what happens is you take a break from the behavior you deemed bad, only to pick right back up where you left off later down the road.

I've never had sex yet so I can't even relate.
