@flytetymejam "Like You Don't Love Me" is a great track from "Damita Jo" What are your favorites from that record?

Honestly a hard album to listen to. Too many cooks. "R&B Junkie" and "Truly" are untainted. I can listen to each and smile. @justinblack09
I kindof agree though. I do think the album is extremely underrated but aside from a couple of tracks it is hard to listen to. Both Damita Jo and Discipline. Janet, Rhythm Nation, The Velvet Rope, All For You>>>>>>
I disagree so much. I love Damita Jo. The title track is amazeballs and so is R&B junkie and Island Life and My Baby and All Nite and I Want You and I basically love the whole album.
Damita Jo is criminally underrated, but you can not ignore the reasons why the critics dragged it. The overall concept goes nowhere and it was another sexual album right after All For You (which concept was already... too subtle).
Anyway, I bop to it and I LOVE the laidback productions. It's not better than AFY tho (You Ain't Right, China Love, Trust, Son of a Gun and Feels So Right are the ish!).
Damita Jo could have been a GREAT album but it's too long. Slo Love is one of the best Janet songs ever. Look up a song called put your hands an unreleased track from DJ and enjoy!

Well I kinda agree with him. I love Janet but I listen to this album the least. However, it does have some strong standout tracks such as All Nite, R&B Junkie, Island Life.
I agree. It was a bit too much fluff in between the tracks that actually mattered. I'd take "All Nite", "I Want You", "My Baby", "R&B Junkie", and maybe "Strawberry Bounce" over a good amount of the entire album. The rest were too watered down and filler for me. Still a good album, though.
I love Damita Jo. I just think he's a lil' upset that she just didn't work with him and terry. she started branching out to other producers and writers when she worked with them and only them for the majority of her career.

I prefer 20 YO over Damita Jo.
No way 20 Y.O. is trash
Damita Jo is underrated its an amazing album but its a really "sensual" album
