I thought it was the opposite actually. Sure at first they look nice but eventually they stop trying. But then when they are single they try to look good so they can find someone.
Sure? I guess it's simply because they want to look nicer for their bf/gf?
I kinda agree. But there's something else I can't really explain. Maybe its the commitment quality that's attractive?

Yes because you have a less chance of having them and them having a BF/GF shows that someone likes them, which in turn makes you think "Wow people like this person!"
