Well, unlike Beyoncé, the media was constantly trying to bring Gaga down. They were constantly praising Bey, so that has an effect on the public, obviously. You can't deny that many people dislike her now.
When BEYONCÉ was first released on iTunes, you couldn't listen to a single song or purchase an individual song, you HAD to buy the whole album. All the headers and that the fact that Beyoncé is seen as an "icon" by many made it easy for her to sell. Soon after, she started promoting it on tour. The videos were already filmed, so it was even easier to put them on YouTube for more exposure. Not to mention there were absolutely no leaks.
BEYONCÉ was handled amazingly well, unlike ARTPOP. Song titles and ideas and planned performances were leaking a year before the actual album dropped, which was also leaked three days before it was out. It now has two singles and one music video, and apart from some performances, she hasn't done much. Her interviews consisted of her giving some bull**** about how ARTPOP had a huge meaning or whatever behind it, which easily alienated many people.
Simple fact is Beyoncé is well-liked and respected more than Lady Gaga; this is an undeniable fact. Y'all just like fishing for fights so that you can rub it in everyone's face how many copies BEYONCÉ sold it's first week
But back to the main point. What does this have to do with me (and many others) thinking that the album is overrated? Did we say that it sucks? Did we say that it's bad? NO. We merely stated that it is overrated. There's a huge difference.

So basically you're saying BEYONCÉ was executed amazingly and lots of measures were taken to push it further? And you're always saying ARTPOP didn't have that? Soooooo Bey put in work and got lots of acclaim which tells us it was
earned, not making it overrated. You just said it yourself. Bey did lots of things for this album and it paid off. Gaga didn't so that's her fault.
And don't act like Bey did great just because she's Bey. Then how do you explain the reception of 4?
And about the iTunes thing - you make it sound like people were forced to buy the entire album. Yeah it was all album-only, but people still CHOSE to buy it that way.
And if Beyoncé is 'well-liked and respected more than Lady Gaga' then Bey is treated that way because she has proved her genuineness and Gaga hasn't. People don't just hate for no reason.

If people do dislike Lady Gaga, it's because she gave them reason to.
