But that is the only appropriate thing for a vocalist to do. It is not a badge of honor that so many others risk their vocal health and turn in sub par performances. What was it for? I'm also not sure she often lip syncs when the song is a vocal heavy, it's generally when she's moving around a lot and not always even then. Let's not pretend there aren't plenty of live performances to choose from, there are many and on major stages. She just really know how to sing while still maintaining a large range and taking vocal risks. She seems to just know what sounds good and how to create drama in a song without doing something stupid. Strong musical instinct combined with strong technique.
I understand that Bey's style isn't everyone's cup of tea. I always knew she could sing and I've enjoyed many of her vocals over the years, but the older and more confident she's become, the more stark the difference between her and everyone else in this area.
