So... Not sure if anyone really cares, but I've noticed there are a few Linkin Park stans on ATRL and there were a lot more people that were excited about their surprise single last night than I thought. Anyways... If you aren't aware, Linkin Park released a new single last night. It features Rakim and is called "Guilty All the Same". It's been speculated to be the lead single from their upcoming sixth studio album, and now it's been confirmed that it is indeed the lead single for the album, which will be due out this summer, according to band member Mike Shinoda:

I am as long as it's not like their last three albums...

Their last three albums were pretty good, though. Some of the songs were a bit too experimental, but I still thought overall they were good. And I've noticed that with their last few albums, Chester has stopped screaming so much, so I'm wondering if they're afraid it will affect his vocal cords if he keeps doing it too much? I don't know. But their new song seems like a good balance between the music they started off with and the music they do now. I really like it and I'm really excited for their new album!

I liked Guilty All the Same A LOT.

Yes I really like "Guilty All The Same" a lot and I agree with you but Living Things was there worst album however I enjoyed A Thousand Suns!

I agree, I thought Minutes to Midnight was really quite flawless. There wasn't one thing I would change about it. I really loved A Thousand Suns and Living Things, too, I thought they were brilliant. I liked "Guilty All the Same" a lot too and it really sounds like a Linkin Park song. Some aspects of it are a bit similar to some of their modern stuff, but the composition is like a modern take on their older stuff. It was a really good blend, and I really liked it.

Musically, I don't think Living Things was their strongest, I'll give you that. But I did really like it. There weren't any songs that I really hated, and it had some real standouts. "Lies Greed Misery" is one of my favorite Linkin Park songs ever. And yeah, A Thousand Suns was really good, too, I liked that one a lot. "Guilty All the Same" sounds really promising, though, so I'm excited!

I didn't know about the single Living Things it's my fave record by them (yes, even better than Meteora and Hybrid Theory IMO) so I put my hopes on this new album

I'm so excited for this album. It is no secret that I prefer their first three albums, but I still enjoy their other albums.

Life has been good to me this week with releases from Linkin Park, Phillip Phillips, and Coldplay!

We don't have enough information on it to create a thread, though. We don't have a title or anything. The only thing we know for sure is that the lead single is "Guilty All the Same" and that the album is coming in summer. Until there is at least a title given and the album is officially announced, there is no need to make a thread for it.
