Ha, I'm also deaf. I wear hearing aids and speak fine. I took speech therapy when I was younger. You don't need to learn sign language to communicate with some deaf people. I know few deaf people, including my cousin who does not know sign language and rely on their hearing aids and lip reading. But it's nice to sign with someone to keep our conversation private I also dated a deaf guy too.
