My dad has managed to push himself far enough away from me that it almost wouldn't phase me. I would definitely be crushed over my mom though. Now if it was my sister, I honestly don't think that I could go on.

I would be devastated if my mom died. She's the one person who I know will love me no matter what and the thought of losing her is enough of a downer to ruin my whole day

When I moved away for college, I missed her so much that I barely ate and slept the first week and called her everyday.

The scariest thing about this, is that once she's gone I probably wouldn't have any close family left, and I may end up alone for the rest of my life.

In November it'll be 18yrs since my dad was diagnosed with leukaemia. The doctors gave him 5yrs but against all the odds he's still alive today. I know he's on borrowed time but a large part of me is in massive denial. I just can't bring myself to think about life without him. As for my mum, well if she ever died someone might as well shoot me cause I'm as good as dead to. She is my everything, I'd be so lost without her.

The day one of my parents dies I'm really dead as well. The idea of it is so painful I can barely imagine it. My dad had a heart attack in December and pulled through fine but I was a wreck and I'm still scarred from the experience. When my mom told me about it I just collapsed on the floor and started sobbing.
It would be easier if it happened when I'm already married and with kids I think... Still terrible but at least I'll have my family then and kids to pull through for.

**** you, there are plenty of situations without such direct abuse in which it is entirely understandable for a child to stop caring about their parents. How dare you sit there and judge like that?

I can't imagine life without my mom.

I pray the world comes to an end before I have to experience something like that.

Contrary to how you may feel at the time, the world doesn't end, but you do have to pick yourself back up and get on with it. It won't be easy, but you just have to.

I am lucky in that I knew she was sick and was able to spend the time with her I did. There is a lot of people who don't get that chance.

This post made drop a tear. Really sad to read this. Hope you're fine and you're really strong for the simple fact of coping with these situations. I'm sure you're mother is in fact in a better place.

If my mom dies, I'll be devastated tbh, she's like the most important person in my life, I know that's how life works but still

My parents are slightly older than the average parents but they are the most amazing parents ever. I'm so spoiled and all the love I get is >>>>. Always putting themselves at #2 for me

If they would die I would be devastated. Absolutely crushed. Like I have my brother and sister fortunately but I'm seriously so scared of losing the 2 people who have ALWAYS been there for me. I wouldn't kill myself or anything but I think I'm gonna lock myself in my home for like a few months...
