A lot of her fanbase are 14-17 year old white girls in middle America. They'll struggle to connect to her lyrics if they're explicitly in the context of a lesbian relationship.
Also, her country support would pretty much vanish.
I think it would probably do really well based off the controversy, but I don't know how much longer her career would last after that honestly. Maybe it wouldn't affect it at all, though, because lesbians (especially the pretty ones) are more accepted in society than gay men.
Assuming it's country, then her sales (and airplay) would drastically drop. She might have a hit or two on pop.
Pop/indie-style? It could go in three different ways: people are tired of hearing about her so they don't buy, controversy generates buzz about the album and sells more, or nothing happens.
It wouldn't be a country album, so I don't think it would affect that demographic. Plus younger people tend to be more open-minded, so She wouldn't suffer too much with teenaged fans/ young adults. Even if She came out, I don't think Her lyrical style or songwriter's perspective would change too much, so Her music would remain relatable. The new pop direction would attract new fans, and more gays would flock to Her.
That doesn't mean anything! People get married and have kids...and realize at the age of 45 that they are gay.
Not saying that she is, but you get my point!
Yeah, that happens quite a bit with soccer moms where i live in socal tbh. I think there should be a rule where people must come out before age 30 or not come out at all. It makes us flawless gays look indecisive.
BUT she would also gain a boatload of new fans cause so many people only hate her cause they think shes a **** or a homophobe so the damage could not be that bad
not to mention she would definately get dat publicity and ACCLAIM and of course be happy and free
honestly if Taylor did come out i would consider too

It'd be fine.
Her main lyrical content is teen love songs about her boyfriends that can girls can relate to. She'd have to change her subject matter
