Everyone on ATRL shading BBC Four, sounds about right.

Don't get me wrong, BBC Three is great as a whole (despite a lot of trash) but BBC Four show some incredible stuff (Documentaries, Brian Cox, Charlie Brooke's etc.). It also performs well in multichannel ratings and quite often slays BBC Three with ease so everyone howling about nobody watching it can take many seats.

It's a travesty that either should be up for the chop but BBC Three has always been about nurturing young talent and ambitious commissions. BBC Three has evolved into an institution over the years and canning it only means alienating young people in a big way and there is not a doubt in my mind that ultimately this will hurt them significantly. What a disaster.

I don't even understand their motivation for doing this. The 10th highest rated show this week on BBC3 this week is still bigger than the 3rd highest on BBC4.
