Let It Go seems to be doing better WW on Kworb because it's doing well in irrelevant markets where you need 3 copies to hit #1. Look at Mediatraffic, Idina is top 20 while Demi is nowhere to be found.
Anyway Idina's version is slaying Demi's in relevant markets like US, UK, Canada, Germany, Australia etc
Isn't it the norm for any disney film? The original will get all the glory - Aladdin, Mulan, etc. Everyone knows magic carpet ride but no one knows the pop version - and I'm an Aladdin fan.
because there was kinda a movie that used Idina's... idk Frozen was it? not completely sure... i think it also won an Oscar???
That's definitely it.

It's not uncommon for Disney to have one of their artists cover a soundtrack song for an animated film so I wouldn't necessarily say Demi's version wasn't needed. It might not be selling as much as Idina's for obvious reasons but it's selling and that's more money in Disney's pockets.
I'm not sure how anyone can think Demi's is actually better sounding. I mean, it is nice. But compared to Idina's it's weak in every aspect, and she makes it sound like a generic Disney song.
Also not here for Demi stans actually thinking Demi is better than Idina. Idina is royalty whereas Demi is just another pop star.
The song itself is not that GOOD tbh
It only becomes a hit because of the movie, and the song fits perfectly in the movie so Idina's version is selling better
Some people in here are really delusional. Demi could be bigger when it comes to sales, but Idina has the highest recognition on her field, a Tony, while Demi does not have a single award as big as a Tony, she remains at home with her Teens Choice Awards. Menzel's version of Let It Go is miles better than generic pop version sung by Lovato, which starts with her screams and you could confuse it with any other of her songs.
maybe because Adele Dazeem's version is the one being used in the billion dollar grossing film, which is the only reason why the song is popular in the 1st place?

Lol what? I'm guessing you don't understand the concept of different tastes and opinions

Demi? screaming?
have you heard Idina's vocals lately? her Oscars performance? let's keep it cute now, people have different opinions.
I like both versions, but I prefer Idina's. I like the original lyrics better as well. I honestly think it's less the singer and more so the structure of the original version being better than the pop version.
'Cause it's better.
But it's not always like that. The mainstream version of "When You Believe" (by Whit and MC) was more famous than the movie version.
Now that we're in the digital age its a lot easier for the movie version to do better, especially since its the peak of the movie. People go home and buy it. And its so good, those vocals slay me so hard.
