It's one thing not to find it funny, it's another to go on rants and stuff because you're offended. Like, who really cares? We've made a lot of strides in the past few decades but there's always gonna be crude and offensive humor. Some people think that's funny, like me. Does that make me ignorant? No, because I know when a joke is simply a joke. My friends make jokes about me being Mexican all the time, and I joke about things that pertain to them. It's all in jest.
And let me just add how people o ATRL make shady and crude jokes all the time, but anytime a celeb does it, we become the biggest hypocrites.
Just because something exists or certain behavior are exhibited by certain people doesn't mean they are right or have to be condoned. Chelsea's racial jokes do not come across as good-natured to me. They are mean, offensive and in poor taste. Some of her jokes are no different than ones I might see on a racist website. If a person is funny, he/she can be funny without attacking someone's race.
I hate how everyone has to be some social justice advocate about EVERYTHING these days. Comedians aren't even allowed to say inappropriate **** anymore? Why is sense of humor in America becoming so boring?
Like seriously, not everything has to be so politically correct all the time. I really hope some of y'all aren't this dry and humorless in real life.
Ellen Is a hilarious comedian and never says anything ignorant or offensive. Yes, it's possibly and that's why Ellen TRIUMPHS the leading female comedians.

I don't find Ellen that funny tbh. She's such a minority among comedians though. Most of the more famous comedians all make crude jokes of some sort.
And no, Ellen is is no way funnier than Queen Kathy Griffin.

When's the last time she's done anything as an actual stand up comedian and not anTV show host? I find Ellen's jokes to be tame and generic.
How was that comment any way at all supportive? It was basically telling a minority how they should feel and react to racism.
She was actually giving them a compliment by saying that she thinks they are intelligent enough to tell when they are actually being hated. Obviously, she was wrong in thinking so based on the idiots here thinking Chelsea is a truly mean person.
I think the bottom line is to just not take comedians seriously, especially Chelsea Handler.
If you've read her books she basically describes herself, without realizing or admitting, that she's just a nut case. She does the craziest things just because... no reasons other than for maybe a laugh. When she is being logical and serious, she's amazing and you will know when she's being serious.
I mean even if you don't find a joke funny, it's nothing serious. Just a comedian who made a flat joke (which happens all the time). If you aren't taking it serious, it's easy to just forget about it. When you take comedians and jokes seriously, you are being foolish to be honest.
I could understand someone being offended by her humor if she was actually making jokes from a malicious mindset but that's not who she is.
No one can tell people not to be offended. People aren't offended by something if what's being said isn't offensive. If a person has to explain away their racial jokes or they're constantly suspect, that person isn't doing a good job. There are several comedians who tell racial jokes and they don't have those types of issues. Chelsea started rubbing me the wrong way when she was introduce every black, female guest on her show as "my next girl", but NEVER do that for the white females. All you have to do is go to her YouTube channel and watch how she introduces each group.
Her Oscar night tweets just weren't funny to me. Saying "Go to Africa" as well as some of the other things were just tasteless. I'm sure some non-blacks found them funny though, as evidenced by this thread. It's always funny when it's not about you.
