Enrique said in a few different UK interviews he wanted 'Let Me Be Your Lover' as the first single.
I know that All Access had a clip of the song as the followup to TTNU but obviously they went with 'Heart Attack' instead and then it apparently was touted as the followup to that song by some radio stations but obviously we got 'I'm a Freak' instead. Just pure speculation on my part but it's possible that the song didn't test well with Clear Channel, if that's the case I don't think Enrique is in a position to risk the strong airplay he gets out the gate.
People tend to think of launch singles as having a "big" or attention grabbing sound so I can see why they have gone for the singles they did particularly 'I'm a Freak'. Still I'm glad they chanced the solo singles beforehand.
Form the clips I think I'm going to love 'Only a Woman' but I think it's destined to be the 'Coming Home', 'Don't You Forget About Me' of the album. They'd have to be
very brave to release it.
A dance oriented ballad like 'You and I' might work might be a good idea but 'There Goes My Baby' seems to to fit best with what people expect from a single, it's like a punchier version of Euphoria's 'One Day at a Time'
