I'm always leaving my phone on full volume on our speaker, and then constantly deafening myself when I use headphones. (It's usually on the bus too, so I do that panic flick thing trying to get them out and people just side eye me as if I'm mental. It doesn't help that I make a loud "gahh" noise [but mostly swear] when it happens too. )
