Iggy has mentioned previously that Nicki is very expensive, so maybe she has?
And really, Nicki isn't obligated to any of these girls. She found her way to success and if her not collaborating with them is her 'keeping the PinkPrint to herself', then she is more than entitled that via the hard work she has put into her own career. They can follow Nicki without Nicki being directly involved.

Wow, very interesting reading through this thread.
I'm very surprised to hear that some people are denying that Nicki has opened doors for women in hip-hop. No, she's not collaborating with any of the "up-and-coming female rappers," but her success in itself has opened doors, WHETHER Nicki truly wants this or not. Do you think a major label would have taken a chance on Iggy, a blonde, white, Aussie FEMALE rapper if Nicki hadn't found success? I don't think so. Do you think Angel would have retained her record deal after leaking Dirty Gold if Nicki hadn't found success? I don't think so. Do you think Azealia would still be on ANYONE'S radar after all her antics if not for her POTENTIAL, potential that only exists because Nicki brought female rap back from the dead? Again, a definitive no. Without Nicki, there is no female rap THIS decade.
Now, addressing the comments about Nicki's glaring lack of collaborations with the other girls. OF COURSE I wish that she would collab with Angel or Iggy, but we have to understand Nicki's position. Nicki had to work so hard to come up, and she did it not only without any assistance from another woman, but with the older female rappers subtly trying to hold her head under the water while she was struggling. Of course Nicki's going to be hesitant about giving another girl her "big break."
I do wish, however, that Nicki would at least tweet back a simple "Muahhhh" or whatever to Angel, at least. Angel praises Nicki whenever she is asked, and has been upfront about how much of an inspiration Nicki is to her. We've seen Nicki acknowledge other women (not in the rap-industry) through Twitter, so I don't see why she refuses to acknowledge Angel. And like I said, I'm not talking a tweet with a link to her album. I'm talking a simple @ with a smily face or whatever.
Lastly, I've said it before and I'll say it again, the girls need to be COLLABBING. I honestly believe that the reason Nicki blew up was because she was EVERYWHERE in 2009 and 2010 before her album came out. She must have done over thirty collaborations in that time. Why Iggy and Angel refuse to collab with the male rappers on their level and above them (especially Iggy, as we've seen that she has lots of contacts within the industry and has claimed that she could have had Kanye on her album if she'd asked) is beyond me.

I hate when people say this.... . Nicki came around in 09. But before that we had Lil Mama, Remy Ma, Trina, circa 06-08
pretty much after 2008 we had no real mainstream female rapper until Nicki came late 2009

I don't think Nicki will ever acknowledge any of the current bunch.
And I don't think many people have reached out to Iggy or Angel... it's disappointing. I think once one collab goes ahead more will follow, it's just getting that first major one.

Iggy wanted to do a collab with Nicki a while ago when she was recording her album. Not sure how far that went, but I know she only wanted to do it if she had a track where it would fit, rather than doing it just for the sake of it, the same with all the other collabs on her album. Whether Nicki would accept in the future due to recent barbz twitter messes is unknown lol.

Welp.... Iggy better save her coins. Honestly Nicki should just be the bad bitch that she is and let these girls get it for free

i dont buy that none of the girl rappers have reached out to nicki to do a feature. i think nicki just prioritizes her career over helping the other girls' careers. which is fine, she doesnt owe them anything, and rap is inherently competitive.
i do think it might be a smart move though to do a song on someone else's album and renegade them. ive heard a lot of comments saying how shes only considered the best female rapper because shes got no competition. if she gave a killer feature verse (especially to someone like iggy who's lyricism and flow isnt nearly as strong even though i think the two of them have several similarities) to someone it would kill 2 birds with one stone.

Isn't her continued success due to her singing pop singles for mainstream appeal?

None of these collaborations (except a few) are done for free, lol. No handouts.

If you don't have anything to contribute to the discussion, please leave. The pop drag is so tired and old. If you disagree with something in this thread, quote it and actually take the time to come up with a written response. There are people in here who disagree entirely with who Nicki is and what she stands and they actually have reasonable and respectable arguments.
I'm tired of seeing you in Nicki threads bringing up pop music/some tired ass drag/talking bad about her. Yes, she made pop music. Yes, she lowkey will probably make some again (more than likely via features). Does that take away from her ability to rap? No.
Leave.
