Last Night, X Factor Season 3 Winner Leona Lewis won the Pride of Britain Music Award. The Pride of Britain Awards are special awards for the real talents of the UK in the fields of Arts, Architectuer, Film and Music. Leona Lewis won the music award, being named not only Britain's Best but the World's Best, bit of an understatement, but there you go. Leona couldn't turn up to the awards ceremony because she is still currently in the States, but will be in the UK next week. I'm the most unlikely member to post a thread about her, but I thought it was worth mentioning because this is a real acheivement. These awards are for people who really do something in the World. The man who built the massive airport in Beijing won an award for the Arts beating out JK Rowling and the inventor of Bebo. Also a 12 year old diving supreme award won the child star award. As I said this is a great acheivement for her, I mean she beat Annie Lennox, who does more than just singing, she is a fantastic charity worker. So well done to Leona Lewis .

^ Well I will admit she looked stunning in that video And she has had a huge amount of success, which she rightly deserved the prize then, but c'mon she is not the World's Best Singer This just makes England's heads big because Leona is English. No offence, but England are always like this, they see it as making their ego even bigger than it already is, they do it with football all the time. Sorry but it had to be said, I know your from England, but She still did deserve to win, their was not really any other worthy winner. Do you know who the contenders for the prize were along with her, because I was flicking through the tv channels, when I saw that she had won?

Other contenders were Mika, Rolling Stones and Amy Winehouse, Mika hasn't really had worldwide success more international, Rolling Stones not really going to comment on them and Amy Winehouse, fantastic voice but she is a mess atm which is undeniable.

Yeah. I love Amy but she definitely doesn't deserve, Britain should be proud of her voice but not of what's going on with her right now?

Amy deserve, don't be stupid. Back to black sold near 10,000,000 so far and her album is way better than leona's album.

It's based on the past year in music and Amy definitely doesn't deserve it based on that, she's a total mess atm and needs to sort herself out rather than being praised.

Well I think it does, it's an award given to the artist not to their albums or songs and atm Amy doesn't tick all the boxes atm and Leona does :s so I think the right person got the award.

I love Amy's music so much, and I agree that her album is better than Leona's. But if it's a Pride of Britain, Britain shouldn't be proud of an artist who is playing with mice and getting doped up on drugs and alcahol near enough to every night. Britain are very proud of Leona, but aren't proud of Amy's life right now. Amy would definitely win it in 2006.

no.i think what your saying is "Pride of Britain with only 1 album and single out in the US".the pride of Britan has nothing to do with the US.shes has 3 singles out in the UK & 2 internationaly.theres no doubt even with 1 album that she deserves this.shes achieved more in 6 months then any other artist has in a year.lol
