This is why the iPad will ALWAYS be the best selling tablet and the iPhone the best selling phone. Does it take away from the credibility of Android sales? No, it doesn't. If you look at it that way, Apple will always be "the king of salez omg".
It would be VERY embarrassing for Apple if a single Android phone or tablet alone were to sell more than the iPad/iPhone, because well, there are thousands of Android products.
Some people like to believe the iPhone/iPad is by far the best phone/tablet. But whatever you want to believe I guess, since it's obvious that's not the case. Android already catched up to it (and maybe even surpassed?) in terms of usability and that's reflected in the sales and the critical reception of the high end Android smartphones. If people didn't enjoy their experiences on Android there is NO WAY that it would be selling as well in both tablet/phones department.
Google remains unfazed with the people who think everything Apple makes is by far the best thing ever.

You're missing the overall point.
The reason the Android market is doing better is because of the Kindle Fire. The Samsung line up is second and it's doing sh*t.
The Kindle Fire is a limited OS compared to full scale Android. So the usability aspect isn't really the point.

The point is though, the majority of people choose the iPad even though they don't
have too.
You're acting like people are forced to fork out extra for the iPad.
If the iPhone or iPad was ****, no one would buy it.
You're also forgetting that the iPad was OUTSELLING the entire tablet industry. Not just a particular brand of tablet within the Android ecosystem.
Also, they have the iPad Mini & the iPhone 5C but both of those don't come close to the original's.
So yes, they do have options for cheaper models. But people still choose the most expensive ones anyway. So you're theory that people choose the flagship iPad because that's the only choice they are given is false. Apple sell the iPad 2 and that barely gets attention compared to the iPad Air (that shipped 13M in it's first weekend). And the iPad Mini which is apparently selling 1:4 compared to the iPad Air.
