I'm surprised that this hasn't been removed yet. I don't think that she's just shading anyone in particular though, and to those quoting her lyrics... um she very well could be talking about her own songs too. She may be writing for her album right now and being told that she can't have certain lyrics and has to "dumb them down" so that her own music can be successful "for the masses".

At least she's open about it, I guess? I mean we all knew that this was her writing style but it's good to know that she's not in denial about it or trying to pretend like it's not.

Well, that's the truth. You generally have to dumb down pop music to smash.

However, she's obviously not that concerned by it if she continues to work with the people she does. You aren't going to get to deliver "beautiful visual poetry" or whatever with the radio candy crowd.
