same with 12 Years A Slave. i mean, sure do i think the Oscars even handed out awards for it because of this idea of stereotypes and Western way of thinking essentially forcing them to think either it wins or the Academy is racist -- yes i do, which is a flawd and horrible way of thinking because awards should be handed out to people who do the best job and race and ethnicity in any way shouldn't be a factor that goes into the process.
However, 12 Years A Slave depicted actual racism and the effects that i has on people, which is not so stereotypical. like i don't understand how the films you provided are when they are some of the most realistic films I've seen.

Since the release of Slumdog Millionaire there has been n numbers of joke that are cracked about Indian being slumdogs in Internatinal media and platform and the one that immediatly comes to my mind is how Raj from bigbang theory introduces himself to girls . People like you and me are culturally sensitive but most of the population is not and such movies will just fuel the fire .
And yes 12 Years of Slave is a hard hitting movie with cold facts but I am talking about Lupita's oscar ? Would she have won it if she was not playing a niche role only crafted to play by black actress ?
