I thought I posted in hear but I guess not.

You need a balance of both. Neither will work on their own. There needs to be a balance of power between private owners and the public for a society to work.

Capitalism is better of course

I find the thought there might be commies or socialists hiding in my country extremely disturbing.

A socio-capitalist state is best.

Let the government control those areas in which the public good is jeopardized by business (i.e. healthcare, education etc...) and let the private sector compete for market share in other areas.
