I didn't know a forum full of mostly gay people could be so ignorant on their fellow community. Every thread that deals with transgender always has people with the most confused post and talking about topics they have no idea what they are. So to help you ignorant queens here's a help guide:

Thank you. Also add that "Tranny" is a slur towards the Trans* community. I don't understand why it is necessarily, but it is. And it shouldn't be used because it offends the trans* community.

Good job! We all belong to the same acronym, yet while the trans community remains involved in gay issues, too many gay people are ignorant about this stuff, even though trans rights are far more behind than gay rights. Everybody should do their part and inform themselves. Not even 20 years ago, we would've been in the same place.

Being homosexual and being transgendered are different. I've said this before, but the 'T' should be removed from LGBT. I feel as though it is a community within a community that doesn't get enough attention. A lot of these misconceptions make sense because not many people know a lot about transgendered people. I think the best way to clear this up is to have the transgendered community - separate from the gay community.

Also, I feel as though the "T" is out of place because trans* isn't a sexuality.

Sis, that'd be terrible. They wouldn't get any attention like that.

I do agree with the other stuff though. The big LGBT organizations completely focus on heteronormative LGB people and erase people who blur gender lines and challenge the "we're just like straights" idea they push.
