World War One started in June 1914, we are in 2014... will history repeat itself?

This year Britain is commemorating the centenary of the start of World War One. But could we ever face a third world war? I decided to find out for The Editors, a programme that sets out to ask challenging questions.

The first is that smaller countries can drag larger ones into conflict. In 1914, Russia, France and Britain became involved on Serbia's side, while Germany supported Austria.

World War I was honestly one of the stupidest wars in history (it was basically about nothing other than people wanting to fight for their country and larger countries getting dragged in due to underhanded treaties) and also one of the costliest.

True, I agree. I hope this is all a hype period that turns out to be a fluff like that CRTFY you song. I am not in favor of WWIII.

Not today being history lesson day on ATRL.

WW1 was so stupid and pointless and just generally a mess. Plus it kinda led to the bigger mess that was WW2. I hope there isn't another big mess like those again.

Has ATRL turned into a history forum for some reason today???

Anyways, WWI was by far the dumbest thing of the 20th century. I mean, there were bigger events that could've triggered it before 1914 but some irrelevant country refusing an ultimatum from another irrelevant country dragged everyone into the slaughter that lasted years. Worse yet, the slaughter that left the wound whose pain was awakened and exploited causing WWII to start, the worst mess of humanity tbqfh. I don't want WWIII because I know it could truly mean the end of the world. I hope the 100th anniversary of that stupid ass mess that was WWI, makes everyone rethink and meditate their actions. Peace is to be served.

(Although I'm ready for Gaga to expand her "online kindness" campaing to the entire world. #KweenOfPeace coming for that promo, ARTPOP going diamond, I see you Gags
