99% of strangers that you meet in the street have no clue that you are gay, because you don't have a sign on your forehead spelling GAY, while black people... well you know. So If our racist, and your anviroment supports it, there is no way for a black man to hide himself, ... You cannot compare what black people went through to what gay people went through.

There are some ways in which the experiences parallel, but absolutely not. Two totally different and incomparable social and political issues that go along with them. Not to mention the histories.

Blacks couldn't hide who they were. Gays, alot of times have to hide who they are. They really aren't the same but both are a struggle from a harmless oppressed minority in society that some support and some don't. So in a way, it is the new black. Homophobia/Transphobia is the new racism. It will never go away but it's slowly becoming less prominent in some parts of the world. It's a revolution just like Blacks faught for. The only difference is the voice blacks found, they had to fight much harder for initially. So it's not as hard as a whole for the LGBT community. But individual struggles vary.

I'm both and he's kinda right to an extent. But as stated, both have struggles and no need to play the "who has it worst" game.

But some people live their whole lives gay, they become their own prison - conforming to the 'laws' society set out for them - aka a gay man marrying and having kids with a women
