Right and 9/11 "safety concerns" was the reason she canceled the ENTIRE European part of her All For You Tour. lol
That's pretty much a valid point since everyone was scared to travel overseas after that. And that's not the same thing as blaming your album and movie for flopping on 9/11, especially when there were other albums that were released that day and went on to have very successful eras (Jay-Z and Fabolous - I'm looking at them).

Her movie premiered the weekend of 9/11, and her movie was the only promotion she had for the soundtrack at the time due to her not performing because she was in the hospital.
Glitter was taken out many movie theaters across America due to it being set in NYC, and having to do strongly with New York Culture.

True but that wasn't making an excuse for flopping. She just couldn't fly to Europe because post-9/11 airline fears. I think Britney also had a solely North American tour that year also.
Mariah will never speak of a flop. She'll just blame something for it. She just blamed her arm being broken for the last album pushback.
